Nice article. One of my favorite parts of the health care bill, and there are many, is the one where the government will give grants to the states to send social workers into private homes to advise the parents on how to take care of their children.

I am so grateful after working hard for decades that finally the government is going to take care of everything for me. At long last I will have the time and energy to ponder more important topics like "hey where'd my freedom go?"

This is great, and so little talked about.
I listened to a guy on Dennis Prager's show talk extensively about this, about the farmers subsidies and the fact that the % of income spent on food back in the day was MUCH MUCH higher than it is now.
Sadly i think this can only be fixed by educating consumers instead of mandating food choices or taxing unhealthy ones. And by educating i mean not only about nutrition, but about values... I swear i work with people who knowingly eat like crap, dont exercise, are bad people, and genuinely care about the latest VH1 reality tv show.... its just sad.

The majority of Americans are against cap and trade legislation that will raise energy prices, despite what some "news" outlets may claim. It will cause a huge amount of economic pain while providing no environmental benefit. Further, if China and India don't agree to emissions limits, and all indications say they won't, then companies could choose to move their jobs overseas to avoid the increased operating costs. We must let our Senators know that this legislation is bad for America. Write your Legislators at http://tiny.cc/ZW0lm.
